For this assignment you will be “creating” a person. You will choose a gender and name your person. You will then discuss, in essay format, changes that your person will experience throughout the lifespan – from conception until death. For example, if the person you create is Jane, you might explain teratogens and discuss how specific teratogens were a danger to Jane while in the womb. You might move on to explain object permanence and discuss how Jane would experience it.

Choose at least 2 concepts from each stage of development (prenatal/infancy, childhood, adolescence and adulthood).

Introduction
Lifespan development involves changes that happen to a person from the time of their conception to the time of their death. Morgan, a male, will experience different transformations, which may be broken down into several phases, like prenatal and infancy, childhood, adolescence, and maturity. Throughout each phase, Morgan’s growth is influenced by a different set of concepts in the precept.
Prenatal/Infancy
As a fetus, teratogens would pose a risk to Morgan’s health. When a developing fetus is exposed to a teratogen, it may disrupt average growth and development, potentially resulting in permanent deficits in physical, mental, or social functioning. Chemicals, medications, infectious agents, radiation, and environmental variables, including maternal malnutrition and pollution, have all been identified as potential teratogens. In different precepts, Morgan experiences motor growth as he learns to crawl, stand, and walk (Kail & Cavanaugh, 2018). Morgan develops motor skills and capacities like coordination, control, and manipulation of muscles to engage in various physical activities.
 Childhood
Cognitive development is an active process that includes creating knowledge via experience and interaction with the environment. Jean Piaget’s theory of cognitive development defines the four phases through which Morgan as a child, actively forms his knowledge of the world. The cognitive development involved the sensorimotor stage, where Morgan learned about the world mainly via his senses and motor activities. In the preoperational stage, discussed by Piaget’s theory of cognitive development, Morgan learned to use symbols to represent things and concepts. Throughout the period, Morgan improves his linguistic abilities and participates in imaginative play. Other stages involve the concrete and formal operational Stages; Morgan grew more logical and became capable of performing mental operations on tangible things (Sanghvi, 2020). Concerning attachment, Morgan develops deeper comprehension of conservation and developed an ability to categorize items and people. Accordingly, he develops a feeling of attraction and attachment to his primary caretaker.
Adolescence
Morgan’s adolescence would be a time of egocentrism as he develops his sense of self and position in the world. In a different concept, Kohlberg’s Stages of Moral Development provide insight that moral thinking develops in phases, with each stage building upon the preceding (Baldwin, 2018). The six phases of moral growth in Kohlberg’s theory are organized into pre-conventional morality, conventional morality, post-conventional morality, and universal principles.
Adulthood
As an adult, Morgan will likely experience marital satisfaction as he feels fulfilled and happy in marriage. Several things influence marital satisfaction, including open lines of dialogue, mutual support, physical closeness, shared interests, and successful dispute resolution. Regarding cognitive decline, Morgan’s cognitive abilities may begin to diminish as he gets older, but the rate and severity of this loss might vary widely from person to person. Morgan could experience short-term memory loss and experience difficulty in solving problems.
Conclusion
Life span development is a complicated and multi-faceted process incorporating changes in a person’s physical, cognitive, social, and emotional states. As a result, Morgan’s development at different ages is partly shaped by his genes, environment, and experiences throughout his life. Establishing a solid understanding of specific concepts like teratogens, motor development, egocentrism, cognitive decline, and marital satisfaction allows the experts to help individuals at every stage of their development.
