Is American football or soccer better?
No one would suspect that the United States, where soccer started, would despise it. Soccer is the most popular sport globally, with more than 80% of the world’s population tuning in. In contrast to soccer, football is primarily an American sport that solely draws American fans. However, why do the people of the United States despise soccer? Football and soccer are the subjects of many discussions. All people concur that soccer, including football, are the two most popular sports globally, no matter how much debate there is between them. However, even though these two sports do not get along, the truth remains that soccer is the world’s most prevalent sport, with more than three billion adoring supporters worldwide.
The soccer game’s duration is more efficient than American football. When everything goes according to plan, a soccer game might run for forty-five minutes for each half. On the other hand, football lays out a far more irregular period for each division. High school football has a shorter quarter length than college, including professional football, with 12 minutes every quarter. Because of this, people may conclude that soccer is more accessible to play than American football (Rössler et al., 2019). Even though many individuals are acquainted with “procrastination,” some cannot tolerate it. If some situations were to halt the game, they fear losing the momentum they have built up during the game. As an example, I once had a football fanatic colleague. In honor of the big game, he asked me to his party, where we watched the game together until the team had to take out one of the players in the second minute because of an injury. The ad will normally come on after an injury or a quarter of the game. Because of his inability to wait, my friend yelled at the television and caused severe damage to it. There was no way to tell who won the game since the Monitor was broken. In this case, soccer flows better than American football.
In addition, soccer gear is less costly than football gear. It is as if football players are going into war every time they go onto the field, and they need a lot of equipment to be ready for it. As far as this is concerned, the equipment is costly. They are always stocking up on protective gear in fear of their opponent harming them (Chen et al, 2019). Soccer, unlike American football, does not need the use of heavy-duty equipment. Soccer players do not need any more soccer gear except for a jersey and shorts for practice. That is all there is to it, and tools are a lot less expensive than the insane gear football players wear, which is another reason why soccer is superior to football. During a football game, players struggle with heavy gear, but soccer players may run freely in the lightest and smallest gear for all of their matches.
In conclusion, soccer players do not get harmed as much as American football players. Injuries to football players are one of the many reasons soccer is superior to football. Football is a sport of brute strength. Therefore players often tackle one other to the ground, resulting in catastrophic injuries, including broken limbs to some participants. On the other hand, soccer players are primarily concerned with taking the ball away from the other team’s player by various means other than direct contact with the opponent’s head (Ekstrand et al., 2020). In soccer, there is the use of skills and creativity. The above reasons show why soccer is the better option than American football.
